The project partners introduce themselves and their visions

This lection introduces the project partners involved in the course and provides an overview of each partner’s contributions and viewpoints on inclusive education, highlighting their experiences and visions for creating more inclusive societies. The following video playlist of seven videos will introduce you to the different perspectives and strategies of our project partners towards inclusive education. Through a series of video presentations, participants will gain insights into the practical and theoretical aspects of inclusion, underscoring the collaborative effort required to advance inclusivity in educational settings.

• Johanna Adler-Gassenbauer, a diversity manager for the Liezen education region in Styria, outlines her approach to supporting schools, parents, and educators in implementing inclusive practices. Her work emphasizes the importance of enabling participation for all individuals in educational settings.
• Ester Miquel Bertran and Jose Maria Sanahuja Gavaldà, university researchers, and professors at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, discuss the seven dimensions of governance in education, offering a scholarly perspective on how inclusive education can be governed and improved.
• Arianna Cavaliere shares her perspective as a researcher and primary school teacher on making all students feel welcome, emphasizing community action and individual efforts toward fostering inclusivity in education.
• Matthias Grasser provides insight into his personal experiences with physical disability and inclusion, highlighting the importance of societal recognition and advocacy for individuals with disabilities.
• Sabine Haucinger, formerly a regional school inspector, discusses her role in promoting inclusion within Styria’s schools, touching on the challenges and successes of integrating children with disabilities into mainstream educational settings.
• Kerstin Merz-Atalik, a professor for education considering disability and disadvantage/inclusion, advocates for an inclusive education system that ensures equal opportunities for all students, emphasizing interdisciplinary cooperation and feedback loops between education professionals and learners.
• Additionally, a brief introduction to the course and a collaborative discussion on the governance of inclusive education from teachers’ perspectives are presented by Erika Anna Pircher & Michalea von Wohlgemuth from the School Administration in South Tyrol.
